Crisis Hotline Advocate

How to Become a Volunteer

  1. Step 1: Complete the volunteer application form.
  2. Step 2: Attend a brief orientation session to learn about SAOP’s mission and volunteer roles.
  3. Step 3: Attend the 40-hour advocacy training, which provides in-depth education on trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, survivor advocacy, and SAOP’s policies and procedures. This training is required for direct service roles, including hotline advocacy and outreach support.
